8pm Scottish Ceilidh, A fun family night with some Scottish Falvour,
Roxburgh Town Hall. Featuring oening of week by Town Cryer, an
address of the haggis, some piping, some Highland and Scottish
Dancing as well as teh "Shindigs" band from Southland for all to dance
to! BYO Drink, nibbles and supper provided. Tickets $25 adult, $10
child or $60 per family from The Highland Pharmacy.
SUN 9TH SEPTEMBER
9.30am Scottish Service -- Anglican Church, Roxburgh
4pm Children's Movie -- Brave (G), Roxburgh Entertainment Centre.
Disney and Pixars animated adventure about Media, a Scottish
princess (skilled archer, and spirited red head!) who confronts
traditions, destiny and the fiercest of beasties. "If you had the chance
to change your fate, would you...?
THUR 13TH SEPTEMBER
7.30pm Whisky Tasting Night, hosted by Teviot Lodge 143 at the
Roxburgh Town Hall. Enjoy a selection of top quality malts, music,
supper and a haggis ceremony. Tickets $45 from John Pritchard at
123 Scotland Street or phone 446 8209/ 4468684. Proceeds towards
project at Roxburgh Medical Centre.
FRI 14TH SEPTEMBER
7.30pm "chic Flic" DVD Screening -- Made of Honour, Roxburgh
Entertainment Centre. Tom and Hannah have been platonic friends
for 10 years, he the serial lady's man and she wants to settle into
marriage... then one day Tom finds himself falling in love with his best
friend. Meanwhile Hannah becomes engaged to another man, a
Scotsman! To be confirmed
SAT 15TH SEPTEMBER
11am Kilt Canter, hosted by the Roxburgh Netball Club (apprx 4km
faily fun run/walk) from clearing opposite Celtic Pawz, Teviot Road to
finish at Pinders Pond along Clutha Gold Trail. We have been given
special permission to use the track (although not officially open)
however participants will travel at their own risk. Gold coin donation
and spot prizes!
Followed by a BBQ to fundraise for the Roxburgh Sportsground and
Event Centre Committee.
Followed by the first ever "Pinders Plunge" hosted by the Lions Club.
Be brave, dress up and have a dip in pinders pond to be eligible for
SUN 16TH SEPTEMBER
9.30am Church Service with Scottish Theme -- Teviot Union
12.30pm Scottish Family Golf Tournament, Roxburgh Golf Club.
9-18 holes, prizes for gold performance and them dress. $5 single,
$10 family. Drinks available and BBQ supplied. Contact Dick Hillon

has celebrated as a community its strong
and proud Scottish Heritage. In 2012 the
programme has a reduced number of activities
but still enough to provide sporting, cultural
and social events for all ages. Generate some
Scottish Style this September.
