mark in the water at the Rescue
2012 World Surf Lifesaving Cham-
pionships in Adelaide last week,

"Words can't describe the win, the
emotion that flowed through the
body,'' McMillan said.
"The team got together 18 months
ago and we had a vision of how we
were going to attack it and we
never veered from that.''
McMillan, who has been based on
the Gold Coast for the past two
years, will return to Otago next
year to attend teachers' college at
the University of Otago.
His father lives in Cromwell and
his mother is in Dunedin.

the gruelling five-day competition
on 846 points, 91 points ahead
second placed Australia, on 766
points, and well ahead of third
place France, on 566 points.

The sun is beginning to shine --
which can only mean one thing,
it's almost bikini weather.
And for those who are happy to
strut their stuff or want to boost
their confidence, entries have
opened for the 2012 Miss Alex-
andra Swimsuit Competition.
The competition will be held
again this year after a successful
return, following a several-decade
hiatus, last summer.
Promote Alexandra member and
event co-organiser Mel Bell, of
Alexandra, said the event attrac-
ted more than 200 spectators and
grabbed national headlines when
it featured on ONE News.
There are 20 spots open for
contestants in the competition
and Miss Bell urged those
wanting to enter to ''get in quick''
as they were expected to fill up
The event, judged on style and
confidence, will be held on
December 29 at the Molyneux
Aquatic Centre and is open to
women over the age of 16 years.
The winner of the competition
will take home $500 cash and an
all-expenses-paid glamour photo
Prizes will also be awarded to
''Most Photogenic'' and ''People's
Contestants, who do not have to
be from Central Otago, will take
part in a photo shoot on December
10 and will have their hair and
make-up done complimentary on
the day of the competition.
Those wanting to enter can pick
up a form from Buff Day Spa,
Lifestyle Photography, Nu Dax
Alexandra and the Tu Meke hair
salon in Cromwell.
Entries close on December 5.
